Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Write & Review card art descriptions and provide best practices feedback to Narrative and Production teams.
  • Commission hundreds of illustrations.
  • Provides clear and timely feedback to artists.
  • Guide & mentor artists to create their best work.
  • Prepare concept art, sketches, and final artwork for licensor reviews.
  • Develop & work within the license guidelines and the set's goals.
  • Provide feedback on premium card production.
  • Aid in growing the freelance artist pool with an aim to enhance the product and reflect Ravensburger's quality standards.
  • Participate in regular Creative meetings with other stakeholders.
  • Direct special projects as needed.

  • Detail-oriented and can self-manage the moving parts of an evolving creative pipeline.
  • Strong drawing capabilities, understanding of anatomy, likeness, perspective and lighting.
  • Understanding of how visual development, narrative, and game play work together in a TCG – visual storytelling.
  • Time management ability to meet tight deadlines and inspire others to do the same.
  • Knowledge of artistic and technical illustration fundamentals.
  • Creatively solve for the game’s needs through visuals.
  • Finds solutions to creative challenges.
  • Strong sense of aesthetics.
  • Collaborative and active team player.
  • Diversity and inclusion are top of mind.

Experience:

2+ years' experienceerience in art buying or illustration commissioning or equivalent.
